Additional $250M Telehealth Grant Coming

Congress appropriated $249,950,000 in additional funds to the highly demanded COVID-19 Telehealth Program (the “Program”) established by the Federal Communications Commission (“FCC”).

I recommend that health systems take the same approach as I had shared previously. Congress instructed the FCC to ensure that, in administering Round 2:

• Award funding for at least one health care provider in each state

• Round 1 applicants can amend or update their Round 1 Application.

• FCC will explain the denial to the applicant. This is a critical step missed in Round 1 as approved applicants found their status from the weekly public newsletter.
